My absolute pleasure and duty! Here it is:

Dishaa to us, is a "perfect school", insofar as such a thing exists. Dharini and Geeta - the stalwart founders with more than 5 decades of experience in Montessori way of learning between them, run Dishaa with one central guiding philosophy which is - "The child comes first". It sounds so simple right? But it's not. It's not easy to live, breathe and act this philosophy honestly everyday and have the entire school aligned with this north star. 

Because that means - saying NO to offering services that might pull focus from the child and its well-being, at a price point that is affordable and reasonable. It also means saying NO to taking in anything more than 70 students every year, because the founders believe that this would dilute their purpose and vision. You see this focus and mission inside every Aunty who works here and that's testament to Dharini and Geeta's vision and the example they themselves set for others. Fun fact - you will never see Founders who are so actively involved with the kids all day (they are rarely sitting in their cabins!) and know each and every kid so well. You would expect this from their own aunties/teachers, but not the founders! That's the level of commitment that Dharini and Geeta and every single teacher, helper, staff in the DIshaa bring to table everyday.

If that's not enough to love this school, here are a few more reasons:

1) They make it a point to include atleast one special needs child in every class and there are teachers dedicated to these children's needs

2) Kids grow up with a love for Indian festivals and culture in a very real and healthy manner

3) Kids serve each other hot meals prepared by a parent in rotation everyday which has taught my child so much in terms of sharing and appreciating different kinds of food

4) The graduation ceremony production the kids put up at the end of their stint in Dishaa is one of the best things that you will ever get to experience as a parent

 And so much more!

I cannot recommend this place more. Dishaa is truly a TEMPLE OF LEARNING. We need millions of such neighbourhood schools to do justice to our kids' potential.
